§1 Who We Are
Simcha Days is a private, invite-only family calendar service designed to help Jewish families coordinate upcoming simchas. We take the trust families place in us seriously.
§2 What We Collect
We collect only the minimum information required to provide the service:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and profile picture, provided via Google Sign-In when you log in.
- Calendar data: Events, dates, venue information, and notes that you or your family admins enter into the calendar.
- Uploaded files: Invitation PDFs or images attached to events.
- Usage data: Basic logs (which pages you visited, when you logged in) used only for internal service monitoring and improvement.
§3 What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect payment card details directly. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics that share your data.
- We do not collect data about your browsing outside of Simcha Days.
§4 How We Use Your Data
Your information is used exclusively to operate and improve Simcha Days:
- To authenticate you and grant access to your family calendar.
- To send email reminders about upcoming events (if you have opted in).
- To send system emails such as welcome messages and invitation links.
- To diagnose technical issues and monitor service reliability.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose outside of delivering the Simcha Days service.
§5 We Will Never Sell Your Data
We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party for commercial purposes. This includes:
- Your email address
- Your family members' names or contact details
- Your event data, dates, venue information, or uploaded invitations
- Any behavioral or usage data collected through the app
This commitment is unconditional. No exceptions.
§6 Data Sharing
Your data is shared with a small number of infrastructure providers who help us run the service. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality agreements:
- Cloudflare - hosting and database infrastructure
- Google - authentication (Sign-In with Google)
- Resend - transactional email delivery
- Stripe - payment processing
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
§7 Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your family calendar account is active. If you wish to have your account and associated data deleted, please contact us at the address below and we will process the request promptly.
§8 Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to the calendar is invite-only. Admins control who can join and what they can see. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your family's information.
§9 Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us directly.
